Alkemists, Strategic Sourcing Form Alliance; Alkemists Analyzes Hoodia

Strategic Sourcing Inc., Reading, PA, has formed an alliance with Alkemists Pharmaceuticals, Costa Mesa, CA, to set the standard for ensuring the authenticity and safety of botanical raw materials in the industry. Under the partnership, products sold by Strategic Sourcing Inc., which produces quality raw materials in the botanical community, will now carry a Certificate of Authenticity (CoA) from Alkemists.

In other developments, Alkemists’ recent random analysis of six brands of Hoodia gordonii supplements found no adulteration or contamination. The random analysis was conducted as part of its second quarter voluntary random analysis program where participants included: Hoodoba, Desert Burn, Hoodia Products, HoodiThin, HoodiTrim and HoodiSpray.
